Meie vanim laps kardab pimedust.
Our oldest child is afraid of the darkness. A lot. We´ve talked about the good sides of darkness - no one will find you up there and you sleep a lot better off. But the result was even greater defiance.
Then we agreed that the lamp may stay on at night but it must be as dim as possible. As I had no special night-lamp to achieve this, I pulled "The Hat" on Ikea Lampan :)
I searched out all the textile yarn leftovers which remained unused after making the laundry basket. I started to crochet "The Hat" from top. First I crochet a circular "roof", then moved on the wall. The lower part of "The Hat" I already crocheted back and forth to allow the opening to pulled apart for inserting the lamp. Decreasing needed a bit of testing, since I had no pattern in front of me. The result was very satisfactory, since the new cap fits perfectly onto the lamp and kept its form. I added the ribbon to the bottom of the cover, which allows it to pull tightly around the leg of the lamp.
The result was a bit smoother night light. Thanks to the LED stays the lamp totally cool.
Although I have to reveal a secret, at some nights I go and but the lamp out;)
